NYC's Most Socially Distanced Office

Frustrated by the pandemic slowdown, I joined forces with Improv Everywhere and The Tideland Institute to poke fun at the “new normal.” The project required a fusion of my maritime and technical skill sets: I navigated the East River by boat to determine the perfect tide windows and anchorage positions for safety and optimal camera coverage. I engineered the floating office to be fully operational, building a custom off-grid power system to run a desktop computer and maintain a live cellular internet connection. The resulting Zoom call was 100% real—and the stunt paid off, landing us in The New York Post and on NBC News, while generating massive social media buzz.
