Having worked with Netflix on a Los Angeles activation for Squid Game S1, I was thrilled to bring Squid Game to my home in the Big Apple for S2. As technical director I designed the layout of the event in 3D using Vectorworks, satisfying all departments’ needs and working within hyper-specific requirements from the Time Square Alliance. My proudest achievement on this project was controlling the iconic TSX billboard, the highest resolution video screen in Times Square. I worked with the TSX team and the agency to build out an audiovisual Qlab show which I called live from a sophisticated video village on the ground in Times Square. The massive on-screen video elements synced with widespread audio playback to fuly immerse the 100+ actors and crowds of tourists in the gameplay.
